1 One summer
2 We chilled and relaxed
3 And then it was over
4 And school started again.

2 We chilled and relaxed
5 In the hot summer sun
4 And school started again
6 Our summer was over

5 In the hot summer sun
7 We put our toes in the sand
6 Our summer was over
8 No more sun for us

7 We put our toes in the sand
3 And then it was over
8 No more sun for us
1 One summer

A child searches
for his lost toy
Under the bed
and in his closet

Its hidden
amongst the shadows
Like a ghost
and amongst everything else

His mother tells him
You’ll find it
It’s not gone
The toy will come back

But to the child
It’s different
Maybe if he cared more
It wouldn’t be gone

He wonders
If ever really cared
He misses the toy
He tells himself it will come back

But the toy won’t come back
It never does
It’s a toy and can’t
But he says he doesn’t care

Just a child’s toy

It might not seem like a big deal
To lose it
But it is
